This is a quote I heard the actor Shia LaBeouf say in a podcast that at first shocked me. Most of the time we associate dying and death with grief, pain, and fear. However, dying can also be associated with learning in the sense of leaving past ideas and moving towards new and fresh ideas.

For example, did you know that in order for a seed to grow it must first rot in the ground and pretty much die before sprouting? Also that when a plant dies and leans over, it pours out seeds to the ground which then start new plants that take its place?

I really like this example because it highlights the thought of death allowing for new life, things, and ideas to grow.

So when we face a situation that feels like is killing our preconceived thoughts on a subject, we shouldn't worry and fear but allow our thoughts to fade so we can get the new thoughts.

I find that as a young person, I face a lot of situations that challenge my preconceived thoughts on different subjects. So in order for me to grow I must allow my own thoughts to fade, so I also can allow my knowledge on a subject to grow.
